According to the Small Business Administration, 67% of small businesses fail within 10 years. But why do they fail and how can we prevent failure. I won’t take your time, so let’s get to the point.

1. Money generating Backup

When I started my first start-up; The NighTale. I wanted to make it a brand. I would work hard for days to prepare one short story with tens of lessons in it, but there was no positive response from the audience. As time passed by I began to realize the empire I was trying to build was going to be invaded because I had to renew the domain and the hosting plan for which I had no money left. In 10 months, I only made 4 dollars, and investing in it again was nothing but a risk. I was not stable enough to spend even a cent on marketing, so it was sure that the business was going to fail within the first year of its establishment. My friends suggested I convert it into a blog that people are more interested in. But The NighTale had already
become like a child to me. I knew its potential. The only problem was that I had no money to target my audience, so instead of U-Turn, I took the Right-Turn. Creating a Sub-domain for free; NewsTale, I set it only for earnings and my main website for pure and quality literature. In two months, I was able to collect ten dollars, motivating me to invest in this project again plus creating my masterpiece Ganaie. Today, not only our earnings are increasing, but We are being recognized and visible. Therefore, If you have a plan for a great business, make a ‘money-generating’ backup for safety.

2. Make a base first

Instead of caring too much about earnings and traffic, you must create a base first. Suppose if your site is visited by 100 visitors, how many are going to come back again tomorrow? Yes! not all 100, which will make it harder for tomorrow to get visitors that easily. So instead of focusing on temporary things first, you must focus and built a permanent base. I created WhatsApp groups and people who liked my content joined via invitation links that I had pasted to the posts of my website. Now it is for sure that maximum people are going to visit once I share the link to the group. You can create Telegram, Facebook, or any other group which is feasible, or just use push notification.

3. Consistency

Without consistency, you can’t be successful at any business. You have to be consistent and productive at the same time. The best example for me is of TKU. If you are uploading your articles at 6:00 PM, 3 days a week, stay put. don’t lose track and make sure to use on-page SEO and all other basic techniques.
